4 days agoThis will not go well. Their track record with snap has been terrible from the security standpoint. How many times was malware found in the snap store? Not to mention subpar sandboxing that results in file access issues and missing features due to the nature of sandbox. I feel like Ubuntu has enough problems as is, especially with their non-LTS releases.

I’m not a big fan of recommending neither Fedora nor openSUSE for first-time Linux users. Both of these require you to use terminal to add third-party repository (which is also a topic of discussion in itself) and swap your ffmpeg/mesa/video player to a 3rd-party repo one. That gives users a pretty bad first time experience.
