I use Kubuntu on my Surface Go because it got way too warm under Windows. It’d work fine most of the time but I just got unhealthily warm to the point it’d get too hot to touch under very minor workload. My SO’s father, who’s been a huge proponent of Linux for decades now, suggested I give it a try and it’s been great. Some minor functionality restrictions but nothing I can’t work around. The touchscreen and the stylus work - that’s all I need for school

Druid@lemmy.zipto Games@lemmy.world•What are you all looking forward to at Summer Games Fest?English5·2 months agoI get that - it was the same thing for me. It’s barely noticeable, though, unless you’re very familiar with the novel and the Disney adaptation. It’s a very tasteful homage to the novel by Carlo Collodi, but you don’t need to have read the novel to appreciate the game for what it is. It’s essentially Bloodborne 2 for what it’s worth. Truly amazing game.
Might just be a tad biased :D But if you keep an open mind about it and that’s all that’s keeping you from giving it a try, I promise you - you won’t regret trying it. There should still be a demo for the game if you’re up for it. :)
Druid@lemmy.zipto Games@lemmy.world•What are you all looking forward to at Summer Games Fest?English12·2 months agoLies of P: Overture. There’s rumors of a shadow drop happening this week
Edit: It literally just dropped as I typed this out. I’m beyond excited
oh absolutely, I’m the last one to judge someone for a gaming console. Sony is definitely not a clean company either. I’m also more of a couch gamer nowadays - desks are just so uncomfy
I get your excitement. Personally, I’d be down to get a Switch that’s not lagging behind in terms of hardware, but I just can’t justify the price tag for barely anything new it brings to the table. Sure, the performance is apparently a lot better, but apart from that not enough has changed to warrant the purchase for me. I haven’t been excited for Zelda for a couple years now, the other Nintendo IPs don’t really interest me, I don’t play on the go as much as I used to, and I have a PS5 where most titles will probably still run better than on Switch 2 despite the hardware upgrade. Plus like you’ve said, I don’t want to buy into Nintendo’s recent anti-consumer practises.
Only game I’m playing on Switch is Overwatch and even that’s not been played in the past couple months - console’s just collecting dust at this point. I used to be a very big advocate of the console, and I still am, but it doesn’t really have a place for me right now.
Do you have any other consoles or is Switch your only one? I think in that case I could see myself getting a Switch 2
will you be getting one? I can’t remember the last time I was less excited for a console launch, personally, outside of xbox console releases

Difficulty settings make games more accessible - period. And gating accessibility behind “artistic intent” and “vision” is just stupid. Sure, not every game has to meet everyone’s idea of a good time, but come on - it can’t be that hard, and it would only be a net positive for everyone.

It’s so sad to see. I’ve spent way more time listening to the soundtrack than playing, I’ve listened to it working out, I’ve listened to it at work, I listen to it when commuting - his work is just amazing. All that lost because a higher-up fucked up and didn’t care enough to mend the relationship. Whilst straight up lying about the events of what really happened on reddit, of all places.
The Dishonored series is amazing and is usually pretty cheap when on sale. A couple bucks at most, maybe.
Another immersive sim to recommend would be Prey. The DLC is really good too
Sure, buddy. How’s that copium? Delusional c-suites
