I would think the pre-known hardware configuration would make boots near instant. I never understood why this isn’t so.

The main reason I upgraded was I wanted more RAM and maxed out the DDR3 stick sizes.
I got a 6th Gen i7, which has faster hard-core processing, but the Windows and MS Office UI was really responsive on those AMDs.
I always preferred the AMD branch pipeline over Intel. Sadly I haven’t used an AM since that FX era, but I used that until about 5 years ago and still preferred it to that day’s Intels.

It’s so frustrating how hard it is to get hardware working. I’m sad it’s not further along, but actually super impressed by the people who keep working on it.
Because you mentioned taking notes and manual tracking, maybe a note taking or wiki application like Obsidian with its plugins.
I mean, if my boss understands that the output of vibe coding rarely works, i’m happy to chat with the AI all day if I keep the same salary.
