I’m (also pleasantly) surprised most of those arch derivatives are listed separately.
I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)
I’m (also pleasantly) surprised most of those arch derivatives are listed separately.
I don’t think I’ve ever actively been put off of wanting a new console before this. Lukewarm feelings or too poor, sure.
I love my original Switch and (most of) its first-party titles but each new article about its successor is making me want a Steam Deck instead.
We’re getting Tomodachi Life for the Switch?! Sweet.
Not who you asked, but I’m in the middle of a playthrough right now and yes that’s exactly it. The deck building doesn’t feel grindy like Pokémon though.
More like “I hate my job, but social safety nets are nonexistent and I need to eat food. On top of that I’m forced to spend my precious income on a machine that requires fossil fuels which are destroying the environment” but yes
Launching after the end quarter is smart. Better bug testing and not being away for the holidays should help a lot.
We probably have different understandings of the word “libertarian,” from what I’m reading.
I’m referring to the people who would also label themselves “anarcho-capitalists,” as the literal definition of libertarianism isn’t typically associated with the term. I put it in quotes since capitalism by design leads to and encourages hierarchy (private ownership etc etc). No, commerce/trade is not the same and is as about as old as written history itself.
I’m also autistic and have been ostracized for “wrong” behavior. When I say “pro social” I mean mutual aid, genuine compassion and actually treating other humans with respect for their immutable traits (beliefs like bigotry don’t count). I do not mean masking or “fitting in.” Unfortunately we do get unfairly judged and that’s bad. But - we also are generally capable of finding and forming our own groups.
Sovereign utopia building as a whole has its own set of issues, but that’s not what was specifically being addressed. Socialist policies in general improve the wellbeing of the respective societies they’re applied to, though.
It’s actually got me thinking why we don’t see more gamer scent stuff on the market in general
RGB deodorant sticks in 3…2…
When everyone is out for themselves, the very basics of civilization collapse.
Empathy and pro social behavior are key to our survival and evolution as a species. Oligarchs and unbridled greed are a violation and exploitation of the social contract and bottleneck progress and healthy societal functioning.
The Bioshock games weren’t just spun up out of nowhere.
This makes me want to get rid of my iPhone even more
“You’ve had the best, now try the rest.”
TL;DR (compiled from additional research as well): Professional level designer Jos van Laar recreates mission “Scuttling the U-529” from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault in Unreal Engine 5 as part of his portfolio. There is no download available for the level, but Nathan Silvers, the original level designer for the game had high praise - though is labeled as “this user” in the linked article.
Here’s another article with more explanation. Maybe, just maybe it’ll inspire a proper remaster, ideally with proper compensation for the artists.
Cool news to learn today though! /gen
No, that commenter is correct. I read the wrong link from the article post. My apologies
The case discussed is directly related to the child, but the driver rather than the mother. The child’s name is A.J. Newman, and his mother is Raquel Nelson.
My point is that the driver never pulled over, which is after-the-fact negligence. Accidents absolutely happen and I blame 90% of this on the infrastructure.
My own biases lead me to believe the charges leveled against a grieving mother are primarily rooted in racism and/or misogyny, and the stark difference in trials adds insult to injury.
That said, I do agree with you on your primary point. It’s an awful, largely unavoidable mix of current circumstances that boil down to car-centrism. The only way out going forward is to completely change the infrastructure to be safer, and while it will be a fight it can be done.
EDIT: My apologies, you’re right. Different link, but from the same post.
EDIT: Leaving this up for clarity, but I did in fact read the wrong link from the post. The above commenter is correct. Carry on and have a good day.
Clearly the driver had no bad intentions.
I hate to break it to you, but:
Jerry Guy, the man who hit the family and never stopped, reportedly admitted drinking “a little” alcohol earlier in the day. He also admitted to being on painkillers and being partially blind in one eye.
Guy had been convicted of two previous hit and run accidents. He pleaded guilty to the hit and run that took A.J.'s life and served six months in jail.
In a world without cars this man wouldn’t have killed a child with his decisions. But this is still gross negligence, especially the multiple hit-and-run charges.
I do agree that if anything this is a great case for pushing public transit and eliminating car centrism. But to not stop/pull over, multiple times, is its own level of selfishness.
Similar to other users - repos go down or corporate stuff starts to creep in.
As long as I get to maintain agency over my system I’m pretty content.
It’s wonderful.
I do miss being able to send stuff from my PC to my iPhone though, but that’s Apple’s fault.
If I could afford to pirate games, it wouldn’t be indie games.
Indie devs are usually small and made up of equally(ish) poor people just trying to make a living. That money puts food on their table and keeps the studio running.
That said, I know some devs look at it as free advertising. Doesn’t make it great, but it’s a different perspective at least.
Electric Callboy! Hell yeah
Happy fediversary!
I was in elementary school when the 360 came out, so no, I wasn’t aware at the time of the corporate smarm coming from Microsoft.
You’re right to be put off of it though, MS is…yeah.
