I’m not super-familiar with mod managers in general but my experience has been that they just work with proton more than you might expect. I know for sure that unity mod manager works fine in proton; I use it for railroader.

Hawke@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•How to stop car terrorism. This was published in 1931. English5·9 days agoI’m not quite sure where your confusion comes from, but a bollard is just a sturdy post. For the purposes of forming a barrier against heavy vehicles they’d be fixed in place and usually relatively strong.
There’s different kinds. some are weaker/lighter and just meant to make it difficult to accidentally drive into a pedestrian area, basically the same function as a curb but a little stronger or where you don’t want a step up/down for the pedestrians. Others are quite able to stop even heavy trucks.
The other kind you mentioned are probably rising bollards, meant to function as gates or to allow only certain types of vehicles (often buses) to pass.

Security flaws and aging hardware are two obvious problems.
I’d very much question why you’d use windows 10 over something better supported— maybe not Linux but at least Windows Server OS.

I get that you are referring to legal definitions here, but that’s exactly what an unmarked crosswalk is: an intersection without crosswalk markings. Same thing, different name.
Hawke@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Virginia safety activist charged with vandalism after drawing crosswalk at dangerous intersectionEnglish4·25 days agoPersonally I hate cars for all the reasons you mentioned and more.
The article certainly speaks more to the “dangerous” part as well as to general car-focused and also fascist state tendencies, but it’s at minimum adjacent to c/fuckcars matters.
They both involve being locked in a tiny metal box, so it fits.

Reminds me of Terra Nil, which honestly I prefer— but this is good in its own way.
Yes. You could use vlc or even as an iso file just open them as a virtual drive.
Nah. It’s got a big fat [citation needed] from me.
10% of people? Sure I’d believe that 10 % of people have transferred data using fax technology at least once in the past year or something. But 10% of households, and you can’t count email to-fax gateways?
No way.
All good. I used to make a strong distinction between “video games” and “computer games” and at the time it was true but now the line has blurred to the point that the distinction is in interface style and the scale between reliability and versatility.
Nah. They might do it from work or maybe by email gateway.
Hell it’s only even possible for the 27% of homes that still have a landline. There’s just no way.
There’s not a lot of video games that don’t have software.
You’d have to back to what, Pong? I see Monaco GP from 1979 listed as one of the last TTL-based games from Sega, but not sure about other companies.
Not a 7900 but my 5900 does for sure.
