M137@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•The signatures are still coming and it's already making an impactEnglish41·10 hours agoSo did many of the other big AAA devs, then they changed. You’re not making any point at all. And don’t get me wrong, what Larian has done is amazing, and the response from the rest of the AAA game studios is both hilarious and depressing, but sadly not surprising. Most AAA studios got big by doing good, they wouldn’t have gotten that big otherwise. But then either new people came in an fucked them up or the ones already there got greedy and lost touch with reality, it’s the same with many other things.

A signature takes mere minutes and preserves many games and lots of fun.English11·4 days agoHoly shit, it’s at 994,000, only 6000 votes left. It’s going to succeed!
Already at 997,500, pretty sure it’ll succeed within a couple of hours. Absolutely amazing to see this, so excited for the inevitable video from Ross!
I was broken from the start, but also lucky enough to be born in a country that gives me the help and time to find what’s wrong and fix it without asking for anything back. Because my road to be able to work has been, is and will be long I have so much time to enjoy what I can (within the bounties of my illness) and games are a big part of that. Gaming has helped me so much, and I wouldn’t trade my unthinkable amount of hours exploring these cool worlds for anything else.
Is it though? I never paid any attention to him, so I only know that one time he made some kids make a sign with heil Hitler or something like that (which from what I’ve read was just a joke in bad taste, he isn’t a nazi or major racist). Otherwise, I haven’t heard anything bad about him, he was just never someone I cared to know more about and watch, seemed to be mostly for kids. Please, correct anything I’ve said if I’m wrong.

I’m playing a lot of satisfactory now, and while the game music is awesome it can get a bit samey after playing for hours every day. Been listening some synthwave with it already but haven’t kept up with the genre for the past ~8 years or so, so this is a perfect surprise! Thanks a lot!

M137@lemmy.worldto Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Tunic is awesome and I wish more people talked about it2·21 days agoI don’t watch streamers either but have known about it since before it released. I suggest finding places that recommend indie games, and just looking at steam to see what’s new and popular. There are lots of websites, youtube channels etc. that make stuff like most exciting upcoming, best of (year/month), best (category) indie games of (year/decade) and so on. I can add some later when I have time, if I remember.
M137@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Must fight temptation to buy an overpriced raspberry pi221·23 days agoAnd for some (including me) that’s our only computer (other than phone). I just can’t afford anything, so all I have is a shitty laptop from 2010 that barely plays 1080p video. I deeply want something better, especially a steam deck, but doesn’t look like that’ll happen anytime soon (or ever). And then you see people have steam decks that just sit there, unused, gathering dust… fuck.
Are you 12 years old?

M137@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•As The Outer Worlds 2 hits $80, director says "we don't set the prices for our games" and wishes "everybody could play" Obsidian's new RPGEnglish19·24 days agoYou don’t need to get just new games. Do what a ton of people do: wait till they’re on sale. There is literally no hurry, wait till any game reaches the price point you think its worth. And then you get the best possible version of the game, both in terms of patches, most of the time with DLC included and the modding community has had time to make stuff (if that’s relevant).

Shadow updating their Linux app to support anything other than Ubuntu 20.04…
It’s the only reason I use it, and it’s weird and bad that they only support that distro and version (which has reached EOL). I’ve talked to them about it and all they say is “We see the need from users for support of newer Ubuntu versions and other distros” which is such a nothingburger of an answer. I spent three days with several other distros and Ubuntu versions trying to figure out a fix but sadly never found one. I just wanna use Linux Mint or anything other than Ubuntu, especially a 5 year old version.

I think it’s well described there, way better than Lemmy and most other fediverse things.

This is like the Thanos glove with the stones (can’t remember the actual names) but for Nintendo in the 80s and 90s. The only thing missing is a power glove which it’s all mounted on, and an NES Zapper somehow integrated into it all.
