  • can say whatever the fuck we want. This isn’t any kind of real issue. Think about it. If you went the rest of your life calling LLM’s turkey butt fuck sandwhichs, what changes? This article is just shit and people looking to be outraged over something that other articles told them to be outraged about. This is all pure fucking modern yellow journalism. I hope turkey butt sandwiches replace every journalist. I’m so done with their crap

  • You’re way to late then too. The perfect time to act on this was back in Iraq with that prince dick head with xi.

Also we all should have taken a harder stance at celebrity using these private security companies. Drake’s in Toronto blocking roads so he can get all 16 armored cars on to the 401.

Lots of people really defend the stuff by saying “look how much money they bring to the city, we can ignore it” but at the end of the day, it’s growing a new industry. I don’t get why we don’t call it out more like these fucks need to wait in traffic like the rest of us. I don’t care who they are or how much money they make. Roads are a public space and shared by everyone equally.

  • What proof do you have that using a left to right rule is universally true?

From my understanding It’s an agreed convention that is followed which doesn’t make it a universal truth. If we’re all doing it just to make things easier to understand, that implies we could have a right to left rule. It’s also true that not all cultures right in the same way.

But here is an interesting quote from Florian Cajori in his book a history of mathematical notations.

Lastly here is an article that also highlights the issue.

    https://scienceblogs.com/evolutionblog/2013/03/15/the-horror-of-pemdas

Some of you are already insisting in your head that 6 ÷ 2(1+2) has only one right answer, but hear me out. The problem isn’t the mathematical operations. It’s knowing what operations the author of the problem wants you to do, and in what order. Simple, right? We use an “order of operations” rule we memorized in childhood: “Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally,” or PEMDAS, which stands for Parentheses Exponents Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction.* This handy acronym should settle any debate—except it doesn’t, because it’s not a rule at all. It’s a convention, a customary way of doing things we’ve developed only recently, and like other customs, it has evolved over time. (And even math teachers argue over order of operations.)

  • I feel like this answers so many questions about people’s views on any new technology. There’s so much media with warnings that it has shaped our core beliefs towards anything with a microchip in it

We’re all raised on media that was nothing but doom and gloom. And not from any kind of ultra intelligent people creating this stuff. It was pot heads, coked out writers and failed comedians writing outer limits and x files episodes or some hard sci fi about what if everybody was female but like not female they were really genderless females and a dude shows up. Oh man that dude would be so confused.

We never had a chance to not grow up to become Luddites.

  • Then you’re in a bubble. One of the most frustrating things about the right currently is they have a large network that is very good at sharing information. They have a much tighter grip of current events than anyone I’ve seen on the left. The left are miles behind on any current events. Whenever something is happening, I’ve been heading over to right wing spaces because as much as I hate it, they tend to know things much faster and in more detail then the left wing spaces.

Just look at Lemmy here. Most information is a post and then 100 comments of talking about how upset we all are and gob smacked. But there is no further insight.

When I go to right wing spaces, it is similar but i do get extra information like background details about who individuals were or what led to an event that isn’t in an article. It comes with tons of bullshit but I trust I know ways to verify information enough to spot the bullshit.
