I thought we switched to libre for that definition and since then used free only as in free beer.

Why do you use desktop mode for a game?

Around 50% is usually best, so I’d aim for that. If you aren’t going to use it for long time, charge it to around 50% and put it in battery storage mode.
The 8bitdo wireless Genesis controller is pretty good and faithful to the original.
Nilz@sopuli.xyzto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Double checking compatibility of new PCEnglish1·2 years agoI would rather use an AMD graphics card over Nvidia on Linux, because of Nvidia’s attitude towards Linux. Other than that there’s not much to say I think, it’s usually the tiny details that are missing from product pages that can make an impact. There’s no mention of which wireless networking chip it uses for example.
That being said. Chances are really low you’ll run into any hardware that doesn’t work immediately without any drivers and if you do manage to run into issues, there are often workarounds. I’ve installed Linux on many devices, mostly laptops, and I’ve never had real problems.

That’s not necessarily true. There has been DLC for Train Simulator (now classic) that got delisted and at some point no longer worked due to updates to the game and not to the DLC making it incompatible. Then at some point a new version got added as DLC which you had to buy again to get a working train. (8448 Big Boy and 6446 Challenger come to mind)
