God I hate this timeline. I feel like we just cant catch a break…the entire world is on-fire, and instead of facing that headon, we are ignoring it and focusing on trivial issues to hide our incompetence.
The collapse is coming because we chose this. Just to be clear, a collapse was not inevitable, we decided we wanted that instead of a habitable world for our grandchildren.

Final Fantasy Remake Part 1
They changed the story and introduced Whispers to the game, something about Fate trying to drive the story the way its supposed to be. Then they made Sephiroth the final boss of what is now known to be a trilogy (bcz money)…
My absolute favorite game got ruined bcz they decided they needed to “shake the game up”. And now part 2 “Rebirth” is some multiverse bullshit.
I hate everything about this corporate BS they turned the remake into. But, I have to live with it bcz its not my game.
Best I could do is buy rebirth used from game stop so Square Enix didnt get any of my money.
Instead, I play the original from time to time, and I have to try to block out the remake changes they have made.
The franchise was so successful, that Square Enix made idiotic spinoffs and added characters to iconic scenes who weren’t there. They’ve just completely ruined the original game with how much they’ve milked the franchise. Its tragic to me, and not many people care that much.
I really wanted a remake that made the changes that were necessary to play to a modern audience, clear up the confusing story points more fleshed out so they were direct, and maybe changed up a boss or two. Basically I wanted the same thing they did with Resident Evil 4 remake, but instead we got a garbage trilogy.

I’ll give it a try. I gotta say tho, the mechanics in this game are all over the place. You should pick a few and really polish them. It says its a toll booth simulation game, but you can farm, and fight people, drive cars, etc. Its like GTA, with lower poly graphics. I honestly dont know what to think about it.

Yeah, I hated the multiverse thing. I do think they did a better job of showing that cloud is having a mental breakdown. The fact that he could see Aerith when nobody else could really made the mental breakdown stuff so much more clear than it was in the original. I’ll be playing the final game, but I didnt give Square Enix my money on part 2, gotta voice my displeasure of the unnecessary story changes somehow. We’ll see how bad they flub the last one and if its actually worth buying from Square directly, or if I’ll find a used copy months after release again.
I didnt like part 1 bcz it had so many story changes. The whisps really made me irrationally angry. The forced story changes into the game for no reason. Im not even bothered by the extra fluff about the side characters that wasn’t in the original. But there are so many fundamental story changes, and then you meet Sephiroth as the final boss?! There’s nowhere to go from there, you’ve revealed the big bad guy already, and not in a logical flowing progression like you should. I do get the linearity of the first one tho. That did make the game easier to get through.
Im kinda of surprised you dont like rebirth. I thought part 1 fell kind of flat, and I hated the story changes. But, the second one is at least entertaining in its own right even if sometimes the story changes suck.
I once found a commit message in our commit history that just said, “i hate git…” bcz they hadn’t changed anything, and I think it took a new line character and decided that they’d actually changed like 5 lines of code twhen they hadn’t.

I mean, its not a terrible game. I just really wish they would have stuck to the original story. If you havent played the original, thats probably a good thing when playing the remake bcz then you don’t have a comparison.
