Yeah, sometimes I’ve noticed with the Voyager app I use that I have to go back and edit the post. For some reason the URL or the associated picture disappears.
Is the browse anonymously supposed to work or is this for people who already have a Spotify account?

Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify is finally launching support for lossless music streamingEnglish
4·2 months agoThis is a great point, currently I have tens of thousands of mp3’s that I wish I could somehow, impossibly upscale to a better codec, but those rare tracks I have in the low VBR mp3 range will never be revived.

18·2 months agoWell that’s one thing Apple did right, aside from a terrible algorithm. Spotify will be jacking up the prices in 3,2,1…

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Google Photos app uploaded all my locally saved pictures completely against my willEnglish
7·2 months agoI appreciate your comment, replying here for reference, perhaps I’d like to join that signal channel. Being staunchly anti-google I feel I’m on top of things, but my Gmail is used across many of my logins. With the scanning for CSAM issue, many people don’t realize that Google installs a hidden app called safetycore, for me it gets reinstalled on every update.

3·4 months agoThis has been happening all weekend, I use a vpn and often change servers to get something to play. But refreshing with patience and at times shutting down freetube then restarting has helped. It has been a huge pain lately for sure.

143·4 months agoI miss the days when all the cool websites used Flash. I think Macromedia killed it for some reason. Probably because it had security flaws, back then it was pretty bandwidth-intensive too, but it made for some dynamic web designs.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Never found a better plugin - chameleonEnglish
1·5 months agoPoint taken, I like the idea of the plugin but was just looking at the permissions and surmising that it was the reason for the downvotes.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Never found a better plugin - chameleonEnglish
5·5 months agoI edited my comment here, but the privacy concern with Chameleon stems from its ability to access and modify data on all websites. This access is necessary for the extension to function, as it needs to alter the user agent and other browser settings. Obviously not great when on secure websites.

2·5 months agoCan someone explain why all the downvotes? I’ve always been of the opinion that the more plugins you have, the more identifiable you are, so if that is the reason for the downvotes, I’d understand.
Edit: It seems the extension requires access to all websites, which allows it to monitor and modify data from any visited site
Jump to 7:10 this is terrifying.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Looking for Privacy-Oriented Open-Source Android BrowsersEnglish
2·5 months agoIt’s complicated but F-Droid flags software that may have parts in it that are not entirely free, fennec is a fork of Firefox and within the source code F-Droid is finding that there is something that isn’t totally foss. I suggest using obtainium ( look for it in F-Droid) and find the GitHub version of fennec.

41·5 months agoJust use F-droid and search for Fennec browser there. Or my preferred way is using Obtainium and manually searching for the version on GitHub, latest right now is 139.0.4
A great video on the issue:

Not sure why the downvotes but Wikipedia says you are right.
“Cwtch is a Welsh word that means a cuddle or embrace, often associated with feelings of warmth and safety. It can also refer to a small space or cubbyhole for storing things safely.”
