I was told these machines have that feature “disabled” but I trust that as much as a politicians word.

Thats fair
The mind is a muscle. Don’t ignore it. Especially now, if you use your mind you’ll be light-years ahead of ai addicts.
Maybe people should actually learn to use their brains so they can read slightly more difficult articles. Holy shit are we gonna have some idiots running around in 10 years. Didn’t think we could get dumber but here we are. (I’m not including people with learning disabilities obviously, they may need an article written or summarized differently to grasp it).
Wanted to try bazzite but on my 13 year old cpu and mobo it wouldn’t boot. Mint ran perfectly.
You have vr games working on linux? Im surprised
Sounds like windows in America. Screw ms!
I just can’t see wanting to live in a closet near thousands of other people…it seems more like something you do if you’re forced to. Idk probably just me since I don’t like that boxed in feeling and I enjoy open spaces.
Im all for this, but what happens when people don’t want to live near other loud, smelly, or otherwise annoying humans? All of these ideas seem to be banking on the fact that we want to be packed in like sardines. I have quite a bit of space as is, and I still want to be farther away from others. Not to mention, I am often the loud one (musician) and I can’t stand the fact that I would bother someone by jamming/practicing, so naturally I have to live on larger land areas.
I never see this fact brought up. Im not necessarily antisocial, but having no neighbors is a dream of many people (especially because Karens exist and can control places like this so much easier).
This is really neat, but much too expensive for me
It works, but performance suffers for games etc.
You wont lose access from switching. I have the same scenario. Multiple drives, coming form windows. However, your drives are probably formatted NTFS which doesn’t play nice with linux. You will want to backup and then reformat them as EXT4 before long. Thats probably the biggest pain with moving to linux. But it’s not that bad. I recommend getting an external backup drive or maybe a cloud backup for a month to have somewhere to put your files before you switch fully.
I made the switch a few months ago after using linix maybe 13 years ago. I rarely boot windows now.
I find flatpaks really annoying. Even using flatseal to allow perms, I have constant issues. But I’m a noob.
Yeah this doesn’t seem right. Im not sure my router supports running a vlan and allowing certain services through to lan
I just saw that i have a vlan/iptv setup that I can apply as a bridge on the guest network the tv is on. That seems right ?
I think netgear makes the guest network a subnet.
Im going to look into a vlan with all exceptions. It’s a nighthawk router so I think it has those features. Haven’t gotten around to putting dd wrt on it yet
Every day of my life trying to explain to friends they need to quit using spoon fed software. Sigh.
Yeah quest 2. I haven’t side loaded it or anything yet as it’s a shared headset with the SO
I hate the term. It waters down true programmers and hard work. 9 year old rips off someone and makes game, “app”. Actual software dev makes useful program using hard work and their own assets, “app”.
Regardless it’s an i7 that is 15 years newer than my amd fx, and the fx wasn’t a good cpu when it was new . I don’t recall the i7 model off the top of my head
