Sounds like a conservative plan.

Make sure you cancel that call right away unless you actually need them.

athairmor@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•How Do I Prepare My Phone for a Protest?English6·23 days agoYou should probably leave your own phone at home when you do. You don’t want the burner phone and your own showing up on the same towers at the same time. Turn the burner completely off when near home or your personal phone.

There are crypto companies that are publicly traded as well as crypto ETFs. You could short sell those.
Personally,I wouldn’t risk it with how crazy crypto is. It’s seems way too easy to manipulate.

Pedestrians can legally cross at “marked crosswalks” and intersections if there are no marked crosswalks.
The difference is that drivers are legally required to stop at marked crosswalks. This is not an “unmarked crosswalk. It’s just an intersection.
athairmor@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Virginia safety activist charged with vandalism after drawing crosswalk at dangerous intersectionEnglish234·1 month agoThere doesn’t need to be a victim but it’s actually fairly dangerous. Crosswalks typically, and maybe by law/code, have signage ahead of the crosswalk to warn drivers.
This could make things more dangerous for pedestrians by giving them false trust that this crosswalk is signed and known to drivers that frequent the route.
I generally approve of this kind of vigilante civil engineering. But, safety should be taken into account so I’m a bit torn.
Either way, it’s civil disobedience which comes with a potential cost. It has worked by drawing more attention to the issue and nobody got hurt. Hopefully, they get off with a slap on the wrist.

Dead simple.
In my experience, they work for what they’re intended—to keep traffic at, or close to, the posted speed limit. A 3 mile stretch that I drive regularly has two cameras. It’s a straight stretch that people would fly down before the cameras. Now, people noticeably stay close to the limit.

It’s good business to fire customers that are costing you money.
He’s really just creating the next generation of tech bros. This is how they reproduce. Someone drops a huge sum of money in their laps for being smart in a niche computer field. That money balloons their egos to the point of making them think they are smart at all the things. And, voilà, a techbro is born. The misogyny, racism and infatuation with eugenics comes naturally after that.
