Not gonna argue with you mate, I know we disagree fundamentally on what the fediverse means. Me and most others never will see eye to eye with you with your capitalist growth-focused approach.
Network effects are incredibly strong. Xitter is now a disinformation and fascist hellhole, and yet people who should know better still refuse to leave. We have the advantage that we’re not growth focused, so we can can bide our time. The inevitable enshittification will do its job eventually, but there’s no telling when the tipping point will happen.

But if I were to put aside the first part and assume a magical reality where the second could manifest without coercion and lies, I would theoretically be OK with it as long as that model passed to the commons when the works it was trained on did as well.

If you’re making money out of selling your game, then don’t use something which abused to commons to do so. If you’re making a FOSS game, I don’t see a problem with it.
Nice for you, bad for the mods. Only way to do that without outsourcing mental strain to other people is to self host
Author admits they don’t ask for donations and then use the lack of donation as evidence for their arguments. Amazing logic there.
Also whatever the fuck this is
By the way, next time you see a request for donations at any project, think about the reasoning in the head of the product owner.
Some of us ask for donations because we know people don’t actually think about it. Fuck you for implying we’re closer to being sellouts than you are.
This blog gives me right-libertarian vibes with its promotion of “open - core” shite and how focused it is on money.

The same reason the OP doesn’t want to provide an email I guess.

The US state just went into cahoots with them to the tune of billions
VC-backed Uber and AirBnb disrupted multiple estabilished industries for the worst by undercutting them through loss-leading.
VC-backed Facebook killed or purchased all its rivals and consolidated almost all social media to the detriment of the whole world.
