I installed Cachyos in June this year after years of Mint (Cinnamon).
It was a zero problem install and everything works with my hardware. I chose KDE and it runs with Wayland perfectly. it’s the best distro I’ve used since i started with Linux in 1995. So my experience with Arch is excellence so far. pacman is already my favourite package manager.
I’m running Debian 12 bare metal on my home server, for over a year.
it just runs, no hassle or craziness.
I switched to Cachyos KDE a week ago. It’s the best distro I’ve used (previously I ran Debian KDE, and Mint Cinnamon before that). I have a GTX 1070 ti and it set up with zero issues. Steam installed perfectly, and I used AUR to install the gaming-meta package.
I have a 1998 Kona Cinder Cone. It sat in a shed for 7 years and rust destroyed many of the components. I priced replacement parts to get it ready to ride again and I also found a used 2016 Boardman FS Pro on ebay. The used Boardman cost less than the parts for the Kona, and the Boardman was full suspension with excellent parts. I bought the Boardman. It’s been loads of fun.

I used a 3040 to run a vaultwarden install and a web server. I switched to something more powerful (more ram, more ssd, faster CPU) and added jellyfin, a file server, and some *arr apps. I still have the 3040, thinking about putting pihole on it.
