Was funny when they said they needed more original games like Hi Fi rush after firing the people that made Hi Fi rush.

Due to some recommendations I am using Bazzite.
I thought it was a bit of a locked down OS due to what I was used to. I realized that’s because of what it’s built on top of on? Like you should be using distrobox to boot up different terminals to install packages and stuff. It took me a little while to get used to it and I quite enjoy it. Although I suck getting wezterm to have a shortcut that will detect custom colours when booting into my specific container.
POP OS has been pretty good for me as well. Overall, quite happy with my Linux experience.
Thanks to this one comment alone I stayed up a few hours last night to switch to Bazzite.
I had a few oddities with Pop OS and I wanted to turn off the fans and do stuff. The fact that Bazzite had it all rolled in is impressive. The keyboard worked immediately. I don’t think I read the instructions well enough but I figured out I was supposed to use bazzite as the pw to get in.
This is what I think I was looking for, at least from what I see so far!
Thanks so much!
hmm, I still think I want to use my laptop for media and gaming and general stuff … I’m leaving next week so I may try a safer OS in the mean time. I think when I get back I definitely want to delve deeper into Bazzite. I think I wanna see if Bazzite would be a good match for my friend. He was thinking about an XBOX Asus ROG Ally X and I was saying that it’s quite pricey if you’re not going to use the handheld component. He said he just wanted a console-like experience so he can just turn it on and play and that he has a Mac for his other stuff. I’m reading the Bazzite github repo and it says: “Directly boots to Game mode matching SteamOS’s behavior.” for the Home Theatre PCs which is what seems to match for him.
Pika OS is looking pretty good. The website is saying all the things that I like!
The laptop has an RTX 4000 card so it looks like I’ll need the specific OS, but I think it was the same as Pop OS. I had to download a specific Nvidia distro version as well, so it’s very similar here. I’ll give it a spin shortly!
I mean … you don’t have to tell me that my opinion isn’t popular, it’s demonstrable. My opinion is statistically insignificant.
There’s a plethora of other things I’d give up like have a slighter bigger phone or a worse camera or wireless charging… I’d also trade those for an SD card slot but no one agrees with me and it’s just something I need to live with.
I was just hoping a phone like fairphone would give me the option to buy a small module or something to let me do it.
Yes, yes there’s adapters … yes, yes, you don’t need to use it … I understand. I just want it.
What’s going on with your keyboard? I’m curious, what’s your native language?
I don’t think I really understood the compilation portion.
Compiling in the web world can also include … type checking which I think is good, minifying code which is good, bundling code which is good. I understand that in this article that they allude to the fact that those can be bad things because devs just abuse it like expecting JavaScript to tree shake and since they don’t understand how tree-shaking works, they will just assume it does and accidentally bloat their output.
Also some static site generators could do things that authors and stuff don’t think about like accessibility and all that.
I think you can do const thing = ... as const
to lock down the mutation?
I know!!
I really wish it wouldn’t benefit Lex Luthor. If it makes waves, hopefully other similar types of cars will come along by the time my civic needs to be replaced.
I thought it was further along that a pipe dream with the demos and videos I’ve seen. I think I’m cautiously optimistic until it officially comes out and I see reviews.
It has the modularity I like at a reasonable price… We’ll have to see if it can deliver.
Sounds a bit like the Slate truck to me.
I can’t remember which one of my phones, probably a Samsung that had Facebook installed and couldn’t get rid of it. People were like, you can just not open it or something. There’s a good reason I don’t want it on my device.
lol yes I understand I know I sound silly. My home/end aren’t typical on my keyboard. It’s like function and stuff, which breaks my flow for something I do so often.
I really want to root for Nintendo but they make it hard.
Opening up my steam library from a console was such a big WTF moment and then being able to suspend games was so mind-blowing.
It’s still not that beefy for triple-A but I’m considering getting GeForce Now running on it.
I use VS Code mainly and I always want to go to the end of a line and beginning. On Mac it’s like CTRL+E and CTRL+A respectively. On Windows, I was like, I guess I could do Windows Key and arrows but it felt off. Installing Vim bindings on VS Code just fixed this all for me. I love it.
[edit] for non-VIM users, you can skip words and go-to braces (and delete what’s in them) and highlight within quotes very easily … for function search, the built-in VS Code is really good too. I also have Harpoon installed to hop between files. If it doesn’t appeal to you, then that’s cool too! Whatever keeps you in there. [/edit]
I’ve tried setting up my own vim stuff and I always bail out because I can’t figure something out. I feel like I need to really sit with it and I’d have the perfect set up for me.
Lastly, I’ve installed vim for zsh and it’s the best. I can hop all around my terminal and highlight and remove things. It’s so beautiful.
Not a word of a lie, I saw a “segmentation fault” error in JavaScript.
Can’t remember how we resolved it, but it did blow my mind.
I’m almost sure it is. I have the Retro Flip 2 and now I wish I got the SNES colours too.
I don’t particularly enjoy the downvotes people get on here for dissenting opinions. I liked the old school Reddit mentality of “if it adds to the discussion”.
Any dissent = black and white judgement sometimes.
I was trying to say the US Dems aren’t the same as the Republicans. I did state I didn’t like them either and listed something Biden did that’s good. Someone accused me of defending genocide and a plethora of other things afterwards.
I think I understand your overall sentiment. Just wanna boot up games and not think about settings, compatibility, framerates and stuff. I know what you mean.
