Where I live there is a holiday where basically the city empties. It’s kind of eerie how empty it gets.

Just after 2-3 days, there is 0 smog when you look towards distant parts of the city. It’s strange how clearly you can see all of the buildings.

Cars really dirty up the air.

One of the problems with removing people from the equation is that there is no way to escalate an issue. I’m guessing it’s by design.

An example of this is the food delivery app in the country where I live. One time a delivery person said the restaurant was closed. The app said it was open but it was a holiday. Neither of us could cancel the order or contact a person to allow the cancelation.

Another instance, a delivery rider had a problem with their bike and asked me to cancel the order, when I told her I could not, she told me to call the restaurant to cancel it.

I don’t think she really had a problem with her bike, but I couldn’t chat with anyone who worked at the app to resolve the issue. She eventually delivered it. I think she just didn’t want to wait for the food to be ready since it wasn’t fast food. I ended up ordering from a different place, and ended up with 2 dinners.

Android is Linux… sure.

But it’s not what anyone means when they say they want a Linux phone.

Do you by chance know if WeChat and Facebook messenger work on it?

Those apps are critical for my work.

That’s pretty cool, I’m working now, but I’m checking out its Android app compatibility.

If it can run my work stuff, I’ll be so happy.

Linux has become good enough to replace desktop operating systems.

Now, we are back at square one. I’ll be the first to inaccurately declare, “This will be the year of the Linux phone.”

I love how terraria does crossovers with so many different indie games. Will they do Stardew crossover at some point? that could be interesting.

I loved this game as a kid. Does it still hold up?

I’m pretty sure that can be turned off in security stings.

If not, you can hold down control or command when launching the so the first time to have the option to run the software anyway.

Their reasons for not opening the App Store aren’t even good logical reasons like it would make the platform unsafe but then they claim the Mac is a safe platform. That’s what makes it so insulting.

I’d be less frustrated with them if they were just honest and said it’s about the money.

If you live in an area with good public transportation then I think it is fine.

But it could cause you problems in life if you do not learn. In my hometown, busses didn’t run on Sunday and they had trouble with work because it was hard for them to get a ride in. They had to ask others to drive them.

Also consider if you ever get married and there is some kind of emergency, it would be beneficial for you to be able to drive your partner to the hospital.

Even if you live in a city now, you may get a job elsewhere someday and driving might be necessary.

As much as I hate driving, I think it is a skill that most people need to learn and be competent at.

My wife is going to learn to drive this year for the above reasons. You just never know when you might NEED to drive.

I’m so happy that I was able to skip all that stuff.

I stoped using my mainstream social media around the years ago.

I kept the profiles, and I think it is good as I can just share them if I’m ever required to.

Yeah, the curved handles are going to get caught on things all the time.

I always wondered how any head of state could feel like they were not being spied on if they were using windows.

Can governments really ensure that windows has been secured that well or is there always a possibility that Microsoft is spying for the United States?

Sure, I just don’t think it’s really that much different than what we have now. I guess I’m just indifferent to it and don’t think it’s that big of a change.

Are you being sarcastic? It is not like that at all. Also the trains stop running kinda early, so you can’t stick around after work.

In the US my mom used to do something like that, but the time it took to transfer to the train into the city and pay for the ticket and parking at the train station, it ended up taking about the same amount of time and cost about the same.

After a year, she just drove into the city as it was about the same cost and more convenient.

I saw some things in the videos, but I guess I don’t really care about design too much. So maybe that’s why I don’t care. I’ll have to ask my wife what she thinks.
