Some important parts:

• Game is fully on cart, just insert and play.
• Switch 2 version (physical at least, should be same with digital) works fine on Switch 1, just give a notification that Switch 2 specific features won’t work.
• 60fps on Switch 2, 30fps locked on Switch
• Mouse controls are “rubbish”

Switch 2 is bigger than Switch 1. I am not very comfortable taking it outside home yet, still use my old Switch 1 for that. So, this could be one of the reason.

And yeah, it would be interesting to see how long it keeps this momentum.

First year is always for enthusiasts and is supply constrained, not demand constrained. This price was high but within expectations, even then, I know people who only play on Switch but haven’t upgraded due to this.

We will see the real effect from next year. If it keeps this momentum or significantly slows down.

I played The Witness and cleared 1 or 2 areas, but then dropped it. Don’t recall why. I remember enjoying what I played.

Yeah, I used to almost never drop a game or a book. Now I am very liberal with it. With my backlog, I am never going to be able to read all the books, or play all the games I want, so I shouldn’t waste my time on stuff that isn’t capturing my interest.

Yeah, same here. I am still much better at more technical fighters, like Street Fighter, but get completely destroyed in Smash.

It’s more fun playing with tons of characters, specially for a casual game like this. That’s what I do too.

Heh, I just played Smash Ultimate after a long while too. Had a few matches with my kid. I started strong, beating him in first few matches, then he got better and I lost 70-80% of the matches. 😀

I can understand. It took me over 3 months to finish Ghost of Tsushima. Though, to be fair, I did pause it for a month, but still, 34 hours of play time in 2 months.

Breath of the Wild is much longer game though, but you also seem to have more time than me, so just enjoy it at your pace and don’t try to rush through.

Battle for Biki Bottom: Rehydrated is fun. I don’t have any nostalgia for SpongeBob but I liked the little I played the game. Wasn’t in a mood for 3D platformers at a time though, so didn’t continue.

CrossCode is on my wishlist, heard great things about it. I think they have released their next game too.

Oh yeah, not saying it’s not a good game, just that I couldn’t get into it. My kid loves it, probably has hundred plus hours in it.

Why do you hate them?

Yeah, I love Switch, and the games Nintendo makes, but as a business, they are a pretty weird company.
