It might be possible with the Modular Android XMPP Service. I have never used it, so cannot help much. Nevertheless, it seems to have modules to notify of received SMS over XMPP. It may even be possible to send instructions to write a SMS.

Is UserLAnd still maintained? Assuming I found the right forge, the last activity is 4 years old. While I agree that a piece of software can simply be finished, I worry about compatibility in the moving ecosystem of Android.
The adjective ‘federated’ is often used for these protocols. There are federated protocols other than email: XMPP, Matrix, ActivityPub, etc.

Wise requires me to use the app as 2FA in order to log into their web interface. How do you log in without the app?
6·3 months agoI appreciate the cheat sheet. I think the names of the character natures are misplaced.
- Phlegm: phlegmatic
- Yellow bile: choleric
- Black bile: melancholic
What puzzled me was that I had no option to input a TOTP. The website would only send me a notification through the Wise app to allow the login.
I have just discovered that the waiting screen on the website had a small, clickable text ‘Did not receive a notification?’ that leads to other options, including TOTP. That’s so much better!
