I recently took up running and need a few good podcasts to listen to while doing so. I thought this would be a great opportunity to broaden my general programming knowledge and keep more in touch with new developments - can you recommend something?
Everything goes, from weekly stuff summarizing new tech to deep dives into certain topics.
The embedded.fm podcast about (whodaguessed!) embedded programming is pretty great. I was surprised at how amusing they managed to make the topic and the excellent quality of interesting guest they continually recruit!
Developer Voices with Kris Jenkins. Great in-depth conversation with developers about a new and interesting project they’re working on.
I like self directed research, it’s mostly rust stuff, but has some really interesting topics mixed in.
I enjoy The Primagens podcast “The Standup”. It’s on the ramblier/sillier side, but it features some serious discussions as well.
Tangentially related, but I really enjoy Hard Fork, which covers the tech industry generally.
Corecursive easily. It’s actually properly produced and very well presented. Not one of those rambling unscripted chats.

Every week there will be news topics, sometimes there are deep dives into technical topics.
The local-first podcast, localfirst.fm, is quite good
I’ve subscribed to a few, though I often find myself getting lazy about listening to them. So take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
Some I used to listen to, some I’ve wanted to listen to, some of these coworkers recommended in recent weeks that I have little to no idea about. Hopefully this helps you find something you like!
